Simonson's stylized art is different than the norm for this type of material and may be a taste I haven't acquired. Whatever else you can say, it is clear Simonson knows what he is doing with these stories of heroic fantasy and adventure in which life and death, not just for individuals, but the fate of whole races and indeed immortal souls are at stake.
May 13, Rohith Chandramouli rated it really liked it. Pretty good collection of Simonson's iconic run, from his original art. Stories like the introduction of Beta Ray Bill still work in black and white. Especially love the fight scenes. The big issue is some major printing errors like reprinting the same page twice, thereby removing a key scene from one of the issues , which caused confusion.

The large size of the book ads to the feel of looking at the original art work. This is my favorite artist and writer on my favorite comic title! Not really a readers book, but you can do that. This is an art book and the closest you will come to owning original art from the great Walter Simonson!
